Bio

My name is Hamidreza Khoshtarash, and I am a second-year PhD student in Civil and Environmental Engineering at UC Davis. My research focuses on flow and transport in porous media, biofilms, and environmental systems, where I combine experimental observations and numerical modeling to study how microbial growth affects permeability and solute transport. I am broadly interested in understanding the coupling between hydrodynamics and biogeochemical processes in water resources. Outside of research, I enjoy backpacking, hiking, camping, and astronomy observations.
