Hi, my name is Alisha Burch, and I’m a second-year Ph.D. student in Dr. Peña’s lab. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Santa Clara University and decided to pursue Environmental Engineering to apply my chemistry background to environmental systems. I’m passionate about professional development, in my first year, I joined three mentoring groups and attended four career-advancing conferences. Outside of research, I love trying new activities; right now, I’m really into woodworking and am taking a class at the crafts center. I’m excited to help out this year!
